Destinations: Khai Islands by PRIVATE Speedboat from Phuket:
The Khai Island group island group consists of three comparatively small private islands, named Koh Khai Nai, Koh Khai Nui and Koh Khai Nork. It is located in the Andaman Sea between Koh Sirae (in Phuket) and Koh Yao Yai (in PhangNga), about 15 to 20 minutes by speedboat from Phuket’s east coast.
“Khai” means egg in Thai and the islands get their name from the shape of Koh Kai Nok, which resembles a fried egg when viewed from above. The waters around the Khai Islands are crystal-clear and additionally it teems with vibrant and colorful marine life. This makes it perfect for swimming and snorkeling and also ideal to just relax on the pristine white sandy beaches.
Koh Khai Nai is the largest of the three islands and is particularly beautiful. The unblemished pure-white beaches are almost 500 meters long and the water is crystal clear with stunning coral reefs, which makes it perfect for snorkeling and swimming.
There is a cat population around 80 strong on Koh Kai Nai, which originated from pets owned by the locals. The cats have become a rather popular tourist attraction and can be found lying around in local shops and on the beaches. As a result, the island is sometimes referred to as Koh Khai Maew.
On the eastern side of the island, you will find several large rocks that have been shaped into unusual shapes by natural erosion over many years. Some of the rocks resemble an elephant’s head and there are also three rocks that look like turtles. As a result, these make for stunning photography and interesting selfies.

- Depart from Chalong Pier to Khai Nai island. The trip takes around 20 minutes by speedboat
- Enjoy snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the beautiful white sandy beaches
- Explore Khai Nai island. It has 3 restaurant/bars: Reggae Bar, The Fisherman Bar & Rattra Beach Bar. The island also has a visitor center and a small Police Station.
- Enjoy a delicious lunch at either Khai Nai or Khai Nok island (extra charge)
- Depart to Khai Nok island
- Khai Nok island has 2 restaurant/bars: The Sam Bar & Blue Ray Bar.
- Explore Khai Nok island, or relax on the beach, go swimming or snorkeling
- Arrive at Koh Khai Nui. This island does not have any beaches or facilities, but is a great spot for swimming and snorkeling
